Learning to Fuel My Life, Not Follow Every Diet
Good food, smaller portions, protein goals, and realistic nutrition. Here's how I'm learning to fuel my body while still enjoying what I eat.

Food Is Supposed to Be Enjoyed
I love food. Always have! I have a culinary background, enjoy experimenting with recipes, and absolutely refuse to believe healthy eating has to mean bland meals. 😂
But after bariatric surgery, I had to rethink how I approach nutrition. I can't eat large portions, so what I choose matters.
My current personal protein goal is around 113 grams per day. Between regular meals, protein coffee, yogurts, shakes, and other convenient options, I work toward that goal in ways that fit my routine.
Some days I do better than others. That's real life.
##Building My Own Plate
I'm focused on getting the nutrients I need while enjoying a variety of foods. That includes protein, vegetables, fruit, and carbohydrates. I don't automatically eliminate something just because the latest diet trend says to.
My portions aren't necessarily going to look like someone else's, and that's okay. I use nutritional guidance suited to my medical history, activity level, and goals.
I also enjoy growing food, which gives me another reason to experiment with fresh ingredients and different recipes.
Expect to see meals that work, recipes worth repeating, convenient products I've discovered, and occasionally something that sounded much better in my head than it tasted on the plate.
